Alfred Hrdlicka (1228-2009) 

Born 27 February, 1928 in Vienna, Austrian sculptor, draughtsman, painter and artist. 

Hrdlicka studied painting until 1952 at the "Akademie der bildenden Künste" in Vienna, and in 1964 he attained international attention as a representative of Austria at the Venice Biennale, Italy. Exhibitions held at Wiener-Kunsthalle, Zedlitzgasse, Vienna (1960), Ausstellungspavillon Zwerglgarten, Salzburg (1963), Werkschau at Kunsthalle Würth, Schwäbisch Hall (2008), Belvedere, Vienna (2010). He died in Vienna on 5 December 2009.
