 Johannes Grützke (1937- 2017))

Born September 30, 1937, in Berlin, German painter, draftsman, printmaker, and engraver.​ He studied from 1957 to 1964 at the Academy of Fine Arts (Berlin), first with Hans Orlowski and then as a master student of Peter Janssen.

Grützke taught 1976/1977 as a guest lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg, 1987, he returned, this time as a lecturer in the footsteps of his former teacher, Oskar Kokoschka, back at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg. From 1992 to 2002 he was a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.
